Some of our users have reported issues with running Dataplex on a system that is also running BitLocker.
If you are running a system that has the TPM module in it, you will need to have your system security key installed in the USB drive for the first two reboots after installing Dataplex.
After the second reboot, you will need to go into Control Panel > System and Security > Manage BitLocker.
From there you need to suspend and resume protection.
Once this is done on a TPM system, you no longer need your USB key in the USB slot.
Should you uninstall Dataplex you will once again need to have your USB key installed and go through the suspend and resume process. This is windows way of accepting the changes that you have made to your secure system.
Lets say that you did not have your USB key installed after installing Dataplex. Upon boot your system will warn you that changes have been made to your system and you must supply your key. After supplying your key the system will reset and Dataplex will view this as a sudden power loss scenario. It will verify your cached data integrity and continue to boot.
At this time you should suspend and resume BitLocker so that this doesn't happen again.
If you are running on a non-TPM machine many people save both keys to the same USB device. If that USB device is always attached you will not notice any difference and might not think to flag BitLocker of the changes made to your system. However, to be complete in your installation you should also suspend and resume BitLocker in this setup.
